ABOUT HOOVER TURF TAILGATE
Hoover Turf Tailgate is a fundraiser for the Cancer Support Community and its Sprout Love Financial Assistance Fund that directly grants money to families impacted by cancer to cover basic living expenses.
Hoover Turf Tailgate will be held on every 2022 University of Michigan home football game day at Stadium Club, Ann Arbor ( 327 East Hoover). The comfortable, family-friendly garden atmosphere is just 450 feet from the stadium. The event is open to the public, free to enter, and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase for $6. All proceeds from alcohol purchases go directly to the Cancer Support Community and the Sprout Love Financial Assistance Fund. A selection of canned beer, cider, seltzer, and pre-mixed cocktails will be available for purchase; see the menu below for updated beverage availability.
The tailgate also features restrooms, game feeds, seating, and yard games. Food and nonalcoholic purchases will be available from Slow’s Bar BQ and Zingerman’s Creamery & Coffee.
Hoover Turf Tailgate is all the fun of a tailgate without the work. Hoover Turf Tailgate will open 2 hours before kick-off for morning and afternoon games, and the last call will be at the end of the second quarter. The garden will open approximately 5 hours before kickoff for night games, and the last call will be 15 minutes before kickoff. Check out the schedule below for updated tailgate times.
Hoover Turf Tailgate is made possible by financial and in-kind sponsorship from O&W, Inc., Boston Beer Company, and Stadium Club 327.
The Hoover Turf Tailgate will be open rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the tailgate will close, and all patrons must leave the area. The severe weather policy follows the University of Michigan guidelines and requires closing the tailgate whenever lightning is seen. The tailgate can reopen 30 minutes following the last lightning strike. This timeline resets after each new strike.
No additional volunteer opportunities at this time.
About Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor
2010 Hogback Road, Suite 3, Ann Arbor, MI 48105, US
Our mission is to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. The Cancer Support Community is a resource for education and information, and a place to gain support - all in an environment of acceptance and hope. In our local community, special outreach efforts to historically underserved portions of our community have been added - to ensure that we truly are serving all people affected by cancer.
The Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor is a unique, grass roots organization that was founded locally by a group of committed community volunteers who have each been personally touched by cancer, and who understand that traditional medical treatment is only one piece of successful cancer care. The Wellness Community is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and program guidance is offered by a Professional Advisory Board, consisting of experts in the field of oncology and social services.
