Canada Confesses is looking for a skilled individual passionate about social justice to take on this specialized leadership volunteer role and join our growing team. We are a project founded by two Black Undergrad students with a vision for a sustainable and equitable nation. They envisioned a platform that could connect and amplify changemakers. Department or Team: Design Team
Works With: Director of Design & Graphic Designers
Description of Role: The Design Lead is responsible for assisting the Director of Design with assigning tasks to the graphic designers that entail content and material related to social justice issues in Canada. They review and edit work created by the design team. They are sometimes tasked with creating promotional materials, short videos, and design elements for the team. This position enhances Canada Confesses’ appeal to a wide variety of audiences and showcases the messaging & goals of the project.

Primary Responsibilities:
Oversee tasks assigned to the designers.
Reviews the designs and graphics created.
Monitors team progress and ensure goals are met.
Creates graphics, promotional materials, and design elements when needed.
Works closely with the Director of Design.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Complete an onboarding/orientation program.
Screen confessions.
Attend monthly board of director meetings & socials.
Report any concerns or conflicts to the CC Team.
Desired Experience:
Previous experience using branding guidelines and design principles.
Previous experience working with other designers on a project.
Training:
Initial training and orientation will be provided, as well as additional support and training to be developed as the program grows.
Time Commitment:
3-month commitment with room for more, if requested. Minimum of 2 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and accommodating.
