School Supplies & Scholarships, Inc.’s mission is to empower, enable and support high school seniors committed and accepted into to college by preparing and providing them with school supplies and scholarships.

Description

In 2019, our president Torey Cohen-Boseman conducted a trunk party for six graduating low-income, first generation high school seniors while working with the Upward Bound program in Chicago, IL. His success from the event pushed him to begin School Supplies & Scholarships in 2020 and leave his employment with the Upward Bound program during the pandemic. Since 2020, SS&S has providing scholastic needs such as laptops, backpacks, comforters, pens, paper, notepads, etc. to over 10 students. SS&S is expanding across the city of Chicago, IL and hosting a trunk party in Nashville, TN. Torey's hometown with the goal of providing over 20 students with school supplies and scholarships in both cities. Each year, SS&S has seen its number of students at minimum double in size and wants to be able to support all students that apply with the help of Levy and interested volunteers in Nashville, TN and Chicago, IL.
