Purpose: As a Ballet Folkorico instructor, you will create an environment where children can learn the fundamentals of dance and music. As the same time, gain confidence while learning the values of culture and folklore. As an instructor, we rely on you to demonstrate these traits and be intentional with your pursuit of improving children's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructor Fundamentals:
Safety- Instructor play the most active role in ensuring each child is safe at all times.
Keep it fun- Kids can learn while having fun! Teach kids the fundamentals while also playing and having fun.
Keep it simple- Lots of our dancers have little or dance experience. It is a type of dance with a lot to learn!
Have a Plan- Have a warmup, a couple dance steps (building week to week).
Keeping in mind our instructor fundamentals from above, instructors will:
Run 1- 1 hour practices weekly
Teaching dance fundamentals and choreography skills
With the support of Program director, plan a performance for December for students to share the skills they learned.
