As an ODHS Volunteer Driver, you donate your time and use your own vehicle and experience to help families involved with the Child Welfare Program.
Volunteer Drivers transport children in foster care (sometimes a parent or relative) to/ from family time and case planned activities.
Volunteer Drivers provide a comfortable atmosphere and a safe ride. Rides may be ongoing or one-time only. Rides may be in town or from outlying rural areas into the Eugene/Springfield area, Salem or Portland.
Volunteer Drivers are eligible to receive reimbursement for mileage and meals for longer trips outside the driver's home area.

Description
Volunteers are an integral part of the Department of Human Services. There is a broad range of volunteer opportunities that help serve ODHS clients and staff. Volunteers are recruited and placed in positions that help meet community and ODHS participant needs. Volunteers provide personalized ways to help ODHS customers, staff, offices, and communities in a variety of ways.
Lane County ODHS has 7 branches that include Child Welfare, Self Sufficiency and Vocational Rehabilitation Programs. Opportunities vary per branch.
