MicroCare Community Development Solutions (MicroCare) supports small business in
the Tucson Community by offering technical and financial assistance to businesses
without the capability of accessing standard lines of credit. MicroCare targets minority
women in business and extends credit to 12 new businesses a year and extends
technical assistance to others. MicroCare has supported a number of businesses since
its founding in 2016 including hair braiding businesses, website developers, social
media consultants, and tea and spice startup businesses. This position will extend
MicroCare’s reach to more business and promote the sharing of technical assistance
and financial education by coordinating social media strategies and creating virtual
platforms by which more members of the community can access MicroCare’s
resources. The position will report to the Executive Director of MicroCare.
A great opportunity for someone to gain experience working with a small team based
out of the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona offices. You will have the ability
to move up and advance in the microenterprise field.

Project Focus Areas and Activities

A. Create Social Media Content: The AmeriCorps member will use canva, video
editing, and other commonly available platforms to create text, picture and video-
based content. They will post content to relevant platforms for target clientele and
monitor platform analytics to learn best practices.
B. Create virtual engagement and classes: The AmeriCorps member will convey
curriculum and learning objectives to online delivery with assistance from
MicroCare staff and volunteers. They will schedule/ promote classes and events
online using platforms and co-facilitate by monitoring chat functions, taking
attendance, and engaging participants post-online seminar.
C. Host community events: The AmeriCorps member will research and engage
community partners and volunteers. They will Plan events to be help in person
with appropriate pandemic safeguards and facilitate events with partners and
volunteers.

Schedule Requirements: Tuesday - Friday 9:30 AM-4 PM, Saturday
12 PM - 3:30 PM or Monday - Friday 9:30 AM - 4PM. Can be flexible
based on your needs.
