Neighborhood Youth Association is a nonprofit organization serving low-income and at-risk youth in Venice. We provide academic support and tutoring, leadership development, and skill building after school.

As part of our high school leadership development program, we provide elective classes. These are meant to be challenging and fun classes that provide new and interesting information that the students don't learn in school. This year, we would like to provide a College Essay Prompts Writing class.

Volunteers don't necessarily need any prior teaching experience. If you are knowledgeable about the college application writing prompts (UCs, CSUs, Privates) and have great writing skills, and passionate about social justice and giving back to the community, then please consider volunteering to teach this course.

Our program runs Monday-Thursday from 4-7. We are flexible with volunteers' time. The commitment would be one hour/week for the school year.
