Seeking volunteers for various parts of the dog adoption process! We need help with all of the following, as little as a two hour comittment per week makes a big difference!
- Writing dog bios/uploading pictures and creating profiles on Petfinder + Adopt a Pet
- Posting profiles + links to social media + pages promoting dog adoption
- Interviewing potential adopters and doing follow up vet, landlord, and reference checks
- Scheduling vet appointments
- Transfer to and from vet appointments, fosters, and adoption events
- Create and run fundraisers, apply for grants
- Walk dogs at adoption events
- Walking dogs at our facility and taking photos
- Fostering dogs (short term from 3-7 days, longer term 1-6 months)

Mission Statement
Home Fur Good Missioners is a family founded, non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, fostering, treating, and placing dogs that come from the kill shelters. As a family, we have always shared a passion for saving those unfortunately dogs that are lost and abandoned. Our efforts started years ago when we found a stray dog in the streets of Mexico around 2000! We were able to get him vet care, vaccinations, and found him an amazing home. We continued volunteering to walk dogs at the local shelters, and became saddened to learn how many of them were euthanized. We began to foster a few dogs in our own homes, then found some friends to help! We now have our own mini-shelter where the dogs can have a safe place until they find their new homes!
Description
Our process involves volunteering at the local animal shelter, screening dogs for certain characteristics that make them suitable for adoption, and taking care of the extensive costs associated with fostering them. Using our site you can view dogs we currently have for adoption, as well as set up contributions that help our cause.
Our rescue still needs a lot donations to pay for vet bills, home, and food. We need help on a daily basis to walk our shelter dogs and support our foster parents. We do adoption events on a monthly basis and are always looking for volunteers to transport the dogs, kennels, walk them at the event, and chat with people there to find them a home!
