Backman Elementary School is seeking volunteers interested in participating in a structured reading tutorial program (DYAD Reading) that provides achievement gains for students needing extra reading practice and instruction beyond what they receive in their regular classroom. The appropriate training and lesson plans will be provided. We are looking for volunteers that are able to commit to a full school year of service, with at least two hours of volunteering each week. Each volunteer must meet all volunteer requirements of the school district. Volunteers will be provided lesson plans to follow and will be responsible for documenting each lesson and keeping accurate records of all tutoring sessions in order to report back to the DYAD reading coordinator.
