Patient Companion Volunteer

Hospice Volunteers are amazing humans! We need more compassionate, caring people to serve as companions for our home patients in Chester, Lancaster, and York Counties. Covid 19 vaccination required.

The Patient Companion Volunteer does the following:

  • Provides companionship and other assistance as needed to Hospice patients and families
  • Visits patient/family on a regular basis, when requested
  • Stays with patient while primary caregiver has appointments
  • Assists in light household chores and meals, if needed
  • Visits hospice patients in nursing facilities
  • Maintains frequent contact with H&CC volunteer coordinators

Hospice & Community Care was founded in Rock Hill in the early 1980’s to bring the Hospice concept of compassionate caring to the people of York County and the surrounding communities.

Over the years we have helped thousands of terminally ill people live their final months in a comfortable, caring atmosphere. We are a non-profit agency, which means that we are driven by our mission of caring for our community and community members are stakeholders in our organization.

All of our revenue goes directly toward helping patients, their families and our community at large. Hospice & Community Care services are available to people of all ages, religion or race and provided regardless of their ability to pay.
