ORGANIZATION: INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ART MIAMI INC

The Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, is looking for 15 student volunteers to join us throughout the school year.

Volunteers will help set up for events, guide patrons, and assist in art making projects.

There are 6 dates volunteers are needed for:

  • September 28th from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. --- prep for the October 1st "Family fest"
  • October 1st from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. --- Family Fest Event day (*includes set up and clean up)
  • December 7th from4:30 - 6:30 p.m. --- prep for December 10th event
  • December 10 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. --- Fall Exhibition opening*
  • May 3 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. --- prep for May 6th event
  • May 6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. --- Spring Exhibition opening*

Volunteers will be given 40+ volunteer hours, t-shirts, and lunches on event day.
You will also be given priority access to ICA events and any collaborations we have during Art Basel.

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami) is dedicated to promoting continuous experimentation in contemporary art, advancing new scholarship, and fostering the exchange of art and ideas throughout the Miami region and internationally. Through an energetic calendar of exhibitions and programs, and its collection, ICA Miami provides an important international platform for the work of local, emerging, and under-recognized artists, and advances the public appreciation and understanding of the most innovative art of our time. The museum is deeply committed to providing open, public access to artistic excellence by offering year-round free admission. The education department centers on making art accessible to youth of all ages and abilities.

Description

The Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami runs several programs dedicated to local youth arts education. We partner with schools for field trips, on site work shops, and more. The museum also provides several application programs to help students develop their portfolios and understanding of contemporary art. We encourage our students to get involved and support those seeking higher education in the arts.
