ORGANIZATION: Tamar's Shelter

Our Mission: To build and maintain shelters in high-risk areas that provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support to women who have been exploited and to enable them to be financially independent.

Purpose: To direct and oversea the financial activities of Tamar’s Shelter and direct the preparation of budget, tax returns, and bookkeeping.

Essential Functions:

  1. Oversee budget preparation and work with the Board of Directors to approve budget.
  2. Supervise business bank account activities.
  3. Create, analyze, and report on the financial statements and budgets.
  4. Complete the preparation of the financial statements, including statement of operations and financial position, budget, tax returns, etc.
  5. Compare actual to budgeted operations and makes necessary adjustments to future budgets.

Qualifications:

  1. Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel
  2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  3. Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
  4. Certified Public Accountant designation preferred
  5. Three to five years of experience in financial management (required) and nonprofit financial management (preferred)

Tamar's Shelter is a Christian organization that believes in helping the poor and the oppressed. We are doing so currently by working in India and are in the starting phase of building this organization. We are excited about adding to our numbers those that are passionate about helping women and children and are willing to generously give of their talents.
