**Now recruiting for Fall 2024 training--Classes will start in September 2024**

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, complete 40 hours of in-person classroom training and submit background checks. One year commitment required.

We are seeking individuals to act as Children's Program Volunteer 3 hours per month (usually two 90min shifts) in our Domestic Violence Safe House and Homeless Family Home. Volunteers interact with the children in our shelters by playing games, helping with homework, and otherwise engaging in healthy and fun activities that help the kids take their mind off their trauma and provide parents the chance to attend meetings or relax on-site. Shifts for the Children's Program are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.

Doorways is an Arlington-based non-profit agency helping individuals and families create pathways out of homelessness, domestic violence and sexual assault leading to safe, stable and empowered lives. We envision a community where all people live free of violence and have safe and stable housing regardless of their gender, race, ethnicity, age, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, abilities, language, or national origin. We see a future without homelessness or domestic and sexual violence.
