ORGANIZATION: Ashland County Aging Unit Inc.

Do you have Sewing Skills? Want to learn and have access to a sewing machine?

Would you like to support the Senior Meal Program?

Come help with our Plastic Reduction Sewing Bee!

One of our wonderful kitchen and dining room volunteers, Helen, has offered to head up this project. She has the material and needs some helpers!

We would like to be able to help the environment and stop using disposable aprons and headwear for everyone.

We are also looking for someone to sew some rice bags for heating meals for our Mellen site.

Give us a call or email to help make this possible! Or just show up on Thursdays - bring a friend or family member with skills too! The more the merrier!

You can help in person or from your home! We need help making some gear for our employees and volunteers in our kitchens and dining rooms!

Your skills are needed for this to happen!

About Ashland County Aging Unit Inc.

400 CHAPPLE AVENUE, SUITE 100, Ashland, WI 54806, US

Mission Statement

It is our mission to help seniors to remain healthy while living independently in their own homes.

The Ashland County Aging Unit, Inc. is a non-profit organization that assists seniors age 60 and over and their families in maintaining health, dignity, independence, and quality of life, by advocating, planning, coordinating, and delivering services and programs. There is an emphasis on meeting the needs of the socially and/or economically disadvantaged.

This allows older adults to sustain a quality of life that promotes longevity with comfort, independence, and maximum control over decisions that affect their lives. Services available include information and referral to appropriate agencies, advocacy, congregate and home-delivered meals, specialized transportation, benefit specialist services, counseling, senior home repair, and caregiver information and support. Although our programs are structured to help people 60 and older, our assistance is available to anyone, especially families, in search of help for an elderly person who is over 60 years old.
