We are connecting volunteers 55 and older with Newport Schools in their after-school program to connect with youth. The program was created to help students get back on track after COVID-19 remote learning loss. The primary and intermediate schools (K-6th grade) are focusing on literacy skills and we need volunteers to help read with children. This is a super flexible opportunity and you don’t have to commit to a certain number of days or hours, it’s up to you! This is a great way to interact with students and form meaningful connections. This program is Monday-Thursday from 3-5 with opportunities for enrichment activities with students. If you're interested in helping 7th-12th graders we need volunteers to help with leftover classwork! The opportunities are endless.
