All of our hospice volunteers must be vaccinated. We adhere to all CDC social distancing guidelines. Masks are required when volunteering in a patient's home. Masks are not required in the office.
We are looking for compassionate people who are willing to dedicate their time to terminally ill patients. We service patients in their homes, nursing and assisted living facilities. Our office is located in Bartlett, TN but our patients are all over Shelby County.
Requirements for hospice volunteer include: Background screening, TB Skin Test, Proof of Covid Vaccination
Volunteer training will be provided.
Positions available:
Direct Care Volunteers (sitting with patients, companion visits, facility activities, delivering gifts celebrating patients)
Indirect Care Volunteers (making blankets, cooking meals, making cards, making phone calls)
Administrative Office Volunteers (working in our Bartlett office faxing, answering phones, making copies)
Veteran Volunteers (specifically work with our veteran patients)
Vigil Volunteers (sitting with patients at their bedside during transition)

Description
Amedisys Hospice Bartlett services terminally ill patients with 6 months to one year of life expectancy. We service all of Shelby County. We have an amazing volunteer program. Our main focus is delighting patients and providing the best volunteers to service our patients and their families. We are looking for direct care volunteers to sit with patients, read, run errands, and celebrate birthdays. We are also looking for indirect/ remote volunteers to make weekend patient calls, make blankets and scarfs, prepare meals and deliver them. If you have a love and passion for helping others, you are the perfect candidate!
