The Dr Martin Luther King Parade Foundation is in need of a Vendor Manager to recruit and coordinate the activities of vendors for the MLK Parade in Tampa. The date of the parade will be January 16, 2023. The parade traverses a 2-mile route through East Tampa and offers the opportunity for food vendors and others to vend along designated areas before the start of the parade and through the parade's duration. The parade is attended by thousands of people and is annually the biggest event in this part of town. The Vendor Manager will conduct ongoing communications with vendors, coordinate vendor locations, assist vendors during set up, tear down, entry and exit. In addition the Vendor Manager will coordinate the efforts of volunteers assigned to help monitor vendor activities, monitor pedestrian crossings, and ensure vendors are properly permitted.

The mission of the Dr Martin Luther King Parade Foundation is to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Dr Martin Luther King while providing an opportunity for residents, businesses, and community organizations all over the Tampa Bay Area to come together for a common positive purpose, and get some valuable exposure to the community in which they operate.

Description

The Dr Martin Luther King Parade Foundation is a 501c3 organization whose membership is entirely volunteer. The Foundation works each year with other volunteers and independent contractors to coordinate and operate the parade, and several other volunteer activities in partnership with community groups around the area. In addition, proceeds from fundraising activities also go toward scholarships and youth development.
