ORGANIZATION: Home of the Sparrow, Inc

The Home of the Sparrow Events Committee is currently seeking energetic, dedicated individuals to assist with planning and execution of all of our annual fundraisers. Ideal candidates will be available for monthly/bimonthly meetings, would be comfortable seeking donors and participants for our amazing events, and enjoy sharing ideas in a team setting.

Home of the Sparrow has 3 events each year: Annual Signature Gala, Celebration of Women Luncheon and Annual Charity Golf Outing.

If you are interested in making a difference, and having a lot of fun, please consider joining our committee.

General Event Committee Needs:
  • Collect items for Silent Auction and Raffle Baskets
  • Solicit sponsorships from local businesses
  • Collaborate with Development staff on theme ideas, event activities, etc.
  • Lead day of event activities: supporting volunteers, helping with registration, putting together raffle baskets, etc.
  • Spread the word about the event and Home of the Sparrow!

Home of the Sparrow provides Hope, Opportunity and Support to empower women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Description

Volunteers are the backbone of Home of the Sparrow. Each time you volunteer, you become part of a woman’s story as she journeys to self-sufficiency!

Home of the Sparrow provides Transitional Shelter, as well as Affordable Housing and Rapid Re-Housing for women and children. Our Supportive Services address the core issues of homelessness.

We invite you to volunteer and shop at our Sparrow's Nest and Community Tread Thrift Stores. Stores are located in Woodstock, McHenry, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, Third Lake, and Arlington Heights.
