Recruiting Organization: Celebrate! Maya Project

The

Celebrate! Maya Project Grant Writer builds organizational capacity by seeking

and applying for grant opportunities including local, regional, state, and

national grants for funding to assist in closing the literacy and food security

gaps for Arkansas youth and their communities. Additionally, the grant writer

will seek opportunities for funding projects involving the teaching of art,

literacy, poetry and history programming and wholistic learning to include afterschool,

summer and mentoring programs providing tutoring, free meals and

cross-generational food, health and nutrition curriculum for the community. Highly

desired educational grant opportunities will provide programs that serve beneficiaries

in low-income communities, minorities and underrepresented immigrants in achieving

economic empowerment and improvement in their quality of life.

The

Celebrate! Maya Grant Writer will track all grant applications utilizing an

organizational internal grant database and management system, which will alert

to relevant opportunities. The grant writer will create and manage the grants

under the guidance of the Executive Director. The grant writer will collaborate

with Celebrate! Maya Project staff members to obtain information regarding budget,

metrics, performance measurements and goals required to respond to potential

grant applications.

The

Celebrate! Maya Project Grant Writer will provide grant status reports, weekly

or monthly, at the discretion of the Executive Director, and at any Board of

Directors’ meetings, if required. The grant writer will evaluate, revise,

improve and provide feedback on the Celebrate! Maya Project grant writing

processes. The grant writer will keep a newcomer documentation file to provide

instruction and direction for changes in grant writer personnel. The grant

writer will transfer knowledge, products, and relationship data to any incoming

grant writer for the Celebrate! Maya Project.
