Natural and human-caused disasters occur every day, reminding us how vulnerable we can be. The American Red Cross takes action every day to serve people affected by disasters, rushing to the aid of a family, a neighborhood or an entire community.
Disaster Action Team (DAT) members respond locally to all disasters whenever they occur day or night. DAT members commit to being on-call and available for defined shifts so that when an emergency occurs either a dispatcher or the Disaster Program Manager can reach them and dispatch them immediately. DAT members meet with family members to determine their immediate, disaster-caused needs.Training is provided. You have the power to make an impact in your community and touch lives every day.
Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest CDC safety recommendations and follow the national and local government laws. COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged.
