Online Silent Auction Organizers

Description (option to help with all or part of the below tasks for any date duration):

  • Help solicit items for our online silent auction (August-early September)
  • Create enticing descriptions for each item for our marketing team (August-early September)
  • Upload descriptions of each item on our online silent auction portal, training available (early-mid September)
  • Help staff pick up auction items from donors (August-September)
  • Create online fliers advertising auction items to be posted on social media (early-mid September)
  • Check the online auction portal regularly and advise staff which items to boost in advertising (mid-September - end of October)
  • Track bid winners on Google spreadsheet and help staff organize item handoff to bid winners (end of October-mid-November)

Mission Statement

The San Francisco Bay Bird Observatory is a nonprofit science organization dedicated to the conservation of birds and their habitats through science and outreach, and to contributing to informed resource management decisions in the Bay Area.

Description

The Bird Observatory was founded in 1981 by a group of enthusiastic biology students from San Jose State University. We study waterbirds and landbirds of the Bay Area, and also provide bird walks and other interpretive activities for the public. We currently have 6 staff and about 900 members. Our biologists work with nearly 100 volunteers in our fieldwork.
