The Iris Network is a non-profit dedicated to helping those with vision impairments gain and maintain independence as well as community integration. We are looking for Board Members to assist us further our mission. We are looking to add to our pool of talented subject matter experts currently serving our Board. Board Members need to be dedicated, goal oriented individuals with strong business acumen.

Mission Statement

Helping people who are visually impaired or blind attain independence and community integration.

Description

Established in 1905, The Iris Network has been helping Maine's visually impaired community learn independent living skills through work of Vision Rehabilitation Therapists. At our main location we have an assisted living facility as well as the Training Center. The Training Center is to help people transitioning into independent life through 10-20 week programs which teach braille, cooking, knife skills, activity of daily living skills, basic home maintenance and pre-vocational skills such as resume writing, interviewing and assistive technologies.
