The Community Vitalization Council ("CiViC") i(based n southern California) is growing its Board of Directors and invites to apply individuals with interests and backgrounds in--
- entrepreneurship
- business financing
- grants management
- community development
- business education or economics
CiViC is committed to building a diverse and vibrant Board of Directors. As a director on our board, you will be in a position to make significant contributions to nurturing inclusive and constructive dialogue within the communities we work with, and to collaborating for community economic growth.
CiViC is committed to community-level economic vitality and the development of stable funding streams for disadvantaged communities.
In its work to implement best practices for the creation and healthy growth of small businesses, CiViC collaborates with cities, economic development agencies, Chambers of Commerce and other non-profit organizations.
CiViC’s core beliefs are --
- Small business and emerging growth companies are key to vital communities
- Each community is unique but all face challenges from new technologies and globalization
- For communities to thrive, the local citizens and companies must be involved on a long-term basis
- Economic development projects should be judged by appropriate metrics
A 2-year commitment is preferred. The time commitment averages 8 hours per month. In-person meetings are likely in late 2022 in the Irvine area. However, remote participation is possible.
