Please note: this is an AmeriCorps position; somewhere in-between a job and a volunteer opportunity, but not fully either. VISTA members are paid a living allowance of $17,600 and can receive either an education award (to be used on tuition or qualitied loans) of $6,495 OR an end of service stipend of $1500.
The VISTA will address the opioid crisis in Schuyler County by organizing and supporting coalition work surrounding substance abuse and the opioid epidemic. The programming treats opioid addiction and recovery as a health issue, emphasizing prevention, intervention, and treatment.
A college education is preferred but not required. Candidates must also satisfy the National Criminal History Check.
