Companionship Volunteer for Hospice Patients & Families

• Gentiva Hospice based in Belville, NC, is currently recruiting for Companionship Volunteers in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender counties in NC. Volunteers are needed to visit with and enrich the quality of life for our patients who are receiving hospice care. There are various ways to offer kindness through companionship, which may include general dialogue, reading, sharing musical talents, and at times just simply holding their hand. The volunteer can also set their own schedule that is convenient for both parties. Typically, a volunteer would make a companionship visit 2-4 times monthly from approx. 30 minutes to a couple of hours. Additionally, visits could involve helping the family cope by offering respite time as the family member runs errands or just takes some time for themselves to refresh. This is an extremely meaningful and rewarding way to contribute to your community. If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here.
