Recruiting Organization: Alzheimer's Association - Hudson Valley Chapter

The Alzheimer’s Association is seeking Volunteer Community Educators to deliver education programs to community audiences within the seven counties served by the Hudson Valley Chapter: Ulster, Dutchess, Orange, Sullivan, Putnam, Westchester and Rockland. We prefer our volunteers live within one of these counties, as we are back out in the community delivering programs.

Alzheimer's Association Community Educators are volunteer public speakers who help raise awareness, provide education and expand the reach of Alzheimer's Association programs in the community. Community Educators deliver Alzheimer’s Association Core Curriculum using prepared training materials on topics related to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias as well as information for individuals and families impacted by the disease. Community Educators ensure that the general public, caregivers, and people living with Alzheimer's or dementia are connected to Alzheimer's Association programs and its free 24/7 helpline.

Volunteers will enhance their knowledge of this worthy cause, sharpen their public speaking techniques, and serve their local communities by providing them with important information. We are looking for self-motivated individuals that are comfortable public speaking; collaborating with staff, volunteers and community partners; and utilizing technology to deliver 12 programs per year.
