Mission Statement

Surge for Water invests in communities with safe water, sanitation, hygiene and menstrual health solutions to end the cycle of poverty.

Description

Since Surge for Water’s founding in 2008, we have invested in communities to provide safe water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH) and menstrual health (MH) solutions in an effort to end the cycle of poverty.

Surge's WASH and MH programs have impacted over 1,000,000 people in 11 countries. Our work has included: construction of wells, latrines, rainwater harvesting systems; rehabilitation of wells; distribution and installation of household and community water filters; and implementation of customized WASH and our copyrighted MH education programs.

Surge’s implementation success is due to our proven record and strong partnerships with field partners like POPOW in Uganda. Surge provides funding, project management, knowledge sharing, technical advice and all of the training for our signature or copyrighted education programs. POPOW executes locally by: mobilizing the local government, community leaders and community; hiring local labor; and delivering infrastructure and education programs.
