Youth Era is seeking volunteers to help during an online, virtual training for youth ages 14-19. This event, called Uplift, typically covers 4 days, 4.5 hours each day. The content was developed by the minds behind Youth Era, a Eugene, Oregon based youth nonprofit.
Uplift is also researched and supported by the University of Oxford, funded by the Oregon Health Authority and recommended by the Oregon Department of Education.
We are seeking volunteers to help assist us as Uplift grows. You bring the passion (and ideally some previous experience) and we will provide you with all the training you’ll need to be a successful volunteer. Our most pressing need is for skilled facilitators who can help us with small breakout rooms (average of 15 youth per group) during our virtual event.
WHO WOULD BE A GREAT VOLUNTEER?
Young adults (18-25) who have lived experience with issues youth face today (LGBTQ, mental health, addiction, eating disorders, etc) [All ages welcome, however!]
Current or former teachers (Uplift happens outside of school hours!)
People who have experience in virtual trainings as presenters or tech support
People with experience working with or volunteering with youth (ages 14-19 are our target audience)
College students who are studying psychology, social work, or education
Anyone who has a passion for shaping the lives of young people and is willing to learn and participate

Description
The success of young adults affects all of us. Each of us, whether we realize it or not, benefits when a young person graduates from high school, finds a job that helps them pay their rent, or gains access to effective services and supports. Youth Era creates solutions for communities across the country that look beyond short-term assistance for the few and toward sustainable support for the many. When Youth Era opens up a new drop-in center, saving communities hundreds of thousands of dollars, it’s not just the young people or even their families who benefit. With Youth Era services, young people have a much better chance of becoming happy, successful, and contributing adult members of their communities, and everyone reaps the rewards.
With your support, we are empowering young people to create personal, community, and national change.
