Looking For Mentors for LGBTQ Youth

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Be A Mentor, Inc.

LGBTQ+ children, youth, and families too often experience trauma due to bias, and discrimination, including within their family, in their communities, and from public systems designed to serve their needs.

But according to the Trevor Project, "LGBTQ youth who report having at least one accepting adult were 40% less likely to report a suicide attempt in the past year." 1

So we are looking for mentors who will love, support, and fully accept vulnerable LGBTQ youth in their communities - having one caring, trusted adult can make all the difference in their lives.

Sign up today to be a mentor to an LGBTQ youth in the Bay Area today!

This is an IN PERSON mentoring opportunity and you could be matched with a youth anywhere near Hayward, Oakland, Richmond, etc.

IN PERSON mentoring requires mentors to spend at least 2 hours a week with their mentee. This can include any range of activities that suit you and your mentee. For example: homework help, outdoor play, museum visits, crafts, etc.

Thank you for considering signing up to be a mentor and helping change the lives of the youth in your community!
