The Grant Writer volunteer will be responsible for researching, writing and distributing grant proposals to potential donors, communicating with the upper management team as necessary, and will work closely with the executive staff to find suitable funding for ongoing operations. As a grant writing intern for Live Wild Foundation, your primary responsibility will be to identify appropriate grantors and submit grant requests. Live Wild Foundation is a startup nonprofit focusing on wildlife conservation and anti-poaching in Africa. In order to continue this work, we need volunteers capable of researching funding opportunities within fixed guidelines, initiating and maintaining contact with foundations, and writing grants for eligible funding. This would require an intern with strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Write strong grant proposals with a well-designed narrative which is in line with the goals and strategy of the organization.
  • Write insightful email messages to potential donors/private foundations
  • Write high quality and error-free grant proposals using either Proposal Management Software, MS Word, or Google Docs.

Description

The Live Wild Foundation initiates, supports and operates worldwide projects for the protection of animals, with an emphasis on wild animals. Examples of this include, projects aimed at the protection, care and/or reintroduction of animals into the wild. It also focuses on projects that highlight the importance of nature and animals while emphasizing the responsibility of treating both respectfully. The foundations goal is to raise awareness for nature and wildlife while spreading awareness that a healthy coexistence between humans and animals is possible.

Live Wild will also create and run facilities in which animals who have been the victims of of neglect or other illegalities. These facilities will serve as a temporary or permanent home with the possibility of re-introduction into the wild if able. The Live Wild Foundation also supports organizations which have the same or similar objectives.
