Are you a current/former special education teacher or aide? Join Community Education Partnerships (CEP) as a volunteer tutor! We are currently looking for tutor(s) for three students located in the San Leandro/San Lorenzo area who require someone with patience and experience. Two of these students are siblings who would benefit from sharing the same tutor, so let us know if you're willing and able to take on two!
Learning changes lives and futures. Share your love of learning by joining CEP's caring team of volunteer tutors. CEP provides tutoring and mentoring to pre-K to 12th grade students experiencing homelessness. CEP Tutors are a consistent and caring presence in the life of our students, fostering a deep love of learning and ensuring that they are set up for academic success.
Tutors with experience with students with disabilities are needed in the San Leandro/San Lorenzo Area!
- Tutors are paired with students based on their interests, skills, and availability
- In-person, virtual, and hybrid opportunities
- Flexible schedules and locations
- Training and ongoing support provided
- Minimum age 16. Minors must have an adult supporter who will supervise tutoring.
Safety Information: Social distancing, masks, and enhanced hygiene measures are required. All volunteers and students must be fully vaccinated.

The mission of Community Education Partnerships (CEP) is to increase the learning opportunities and enhance the academic achievement of students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in the Bay Area.
Description
The primary function of CEP is to recruit and train volunteers to provide high-quality academic tutoring for children experiencing housing insecurity in the pre-kindergarten - 12th grade school system. Volunteers get matched with a student with whom they meet once per week, typically at a shelter or transitional home.
