This position is part of a partnership between AmeriCorps VISTA and Community Options, Inc. Community Options is a leading national nonprofit supporting people with disabilities in housing and employment programs. AmeriCorps VISTA is a federal program that provides needed resources to nonprofit organizations and public agencies to increase their capacity to lift communities out of poverty. Community Options will sponsor 22 VISTA members to empower people with disabilities and to expand housing and employment opportunities across the country. Community Options supports more than 5,000 Americans with disabilities across ten states. VISTAs will partner with Community Options’ staff across eleven regions in New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, and Pennsylvania to develop jobs and increase access to employment training for people with disabilities. The project aims to improve economic success and stability for and alongside people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
