Community and Social Media Engagement Volunteers

Your support in this role will help Learning Ally foster a welcoming, engaged, and empowered community of educators working together to smash the literacy gap. We need your help in liking posts and responding thoughtfully to comments on posts, and igniting education-related conversations in our community.

At Learning Ally, our goal is to make sure educators are empowered to be leaders in their classrooms, schools, districts, and communities in order to ensure every student can become an independent reader. The Learning Ally Educator Community is a place where committed educators from all walks and stages of life come together in support of that goal.

What you’ll do

• Like and comment on social posts in the Educator Community and Instagram account.
• Ignite meaningful conversations related to education, literacy, and teacher engagement, on social posts.

Skills and Qualifications

• Warm, welcoming, and interpersonal communication skills are a must.

• Ability to use social media, or similar software to like, comment, and engage with posts.

• Interest in, and passion for, empowering educators, literacy, student success, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion efforts, and education as a whole

• Desire and ability to work collaboratively with the Community Manager

• Accountability and proactive communication, e.g. when scheduling changes arise

• Desire to utilize creative thinking

• Experience using Canva, or other design tools is a plus!

Time commitment

• This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity with a requested minimum time commitment of 3 months. We welcome you to volunteer at any time of the day, any day of the week.

• Must be able to volunteer a minimum of 1-3 hours per week

• Collaborative meeting twice monthly with Community Manager to go over prospects and build an ongoing relationship.
