Small Angels Rescue, Inc. has a rewarding opportunity for a volunteer Animal Coordinator/Board Member who has a passion for animal welfare and a deep commitment to saving the lives of the smallest and most vulnerable pets. 'Pocket Pets' are often treated inhumanely and discarded when no longer wanted, and it is our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome gerbils, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and rats

Requirements:

We need someone who is in or around the DC/MD/VA area and who has prior experience with care of hamsters.

Responsibilities:

The Animal Coordinator will oversee all activities related to the hamsters under their care and manage the Team Leaders (if applicable) and/or foster homes.

• Handling intakes and adoptions
• Managing the program's Team Leaders (if applicable) and/or foster homes
• Placing animals into foster homes
• Approving adopters
• Arranging adoptions
• Caring for animals under temporary intake quarantine
• Arranging veterinary care
• Participating in monthly board meetings

As an At-Large Board Member, you will participate in Board Meetings. These are held quarterly in-person in Frederick, Maryland, and monthly via teleconference/Zoom.
