This position is open to high school students, college students and college graduates.

Proficient in Adobe Suite Premiere, Photoshop, After Effects (must have own access to software) with 1+ years of video editing/content creation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit videos for broadcast television, online streaming, digital platforms, mobile apps and social media news.
  • Identify Something Good and Solutionaries stories and opportunities
  • Create rundowns and write scripts for shows, write occasional digital articles
  • Coordinate with newsrooms to acquire and manage video materials and schedules
  • Create promotional materials, sizzle reels, social teases
  • Occasional field production including opportunity to produce and shoot stories
  • Conduct interviews as needed for Something Good and Solutionaries
  • Ongoing audience engagement through comments, email and volunteer opportunities
  • Produce and edit companion audio podcasts as opportunities arise
  • Help coordinate group-wide collaborations working with stations on continuing show development

MUST HAVE

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with news managers and reporters
  • Ambitious storyteller anxious to weave compelling tales and create break-through content while managing deadlines
  • Must be available for online remote work 20-hours weekly, flexible schedule for 5-months of commitment.

Volunteer Students will receive two American Council on Education (ACE️(r) credit recommendations in Marketing for a Lower-Division Baccalaureate.

The volunteer externship program is five months in length with a flexible weekly schedule; after the externship, students receive a professional certification in Meta Social Media Marketing, two credit recommendations, professional accreditation, and a recommendation letter for resume submission.
