A Eucharistic Minister will be an upstanding Catholic in a parish within the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The person would be trained especially in the way of distributing the Eucharistic to our resilents in Vincentian Home.
A census list for each community is provided for residents that wish to receive. Some of the residents do attend Mass, but that varies.
Ministers would be required to have all COVID-19 vaccinations and both booster shots and willing to update with any additional boosters or vaccines to protect themselves and our residents.
Ministry is needed 6 days a week (Sunday through Friday). A flexible schedule is made up for each month and a minister distributes the Eucharistic from 9 am. - 9:50 am., attend the 10 am Mass at Vincentian if desired, and then complete their distribution of communion. A volunteer can minister communion relative to their daily/weekly schedule. Usually a day is chosen and if possible, the volunteer comes on that day each week. However, a schedule can be discussed depending on the volunteers availability. Volunteers can come even `as little as 1 time a month, depending on their schedule.
A volunteer can also be someone who fills in for vacations, other appointments, etc as needed by our regular volunteer teams.
Some training will be given, relative to COVID precautions and other necessary information relative to our residents.
