Democratism seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to join and support our team of volunteers working to advance democracy.


  • Communicate with volunteers to ensure they are fully engaged and supported
  • Keep track of volunteer availability and participation
  • Assist in project and task management
  • Draft postings for volunteer positions, and join in interviewing and assessing applicants
  • Manage onboarding of new volunteers
  • Develop an understanding of the organization’s objectives
Required Skills & Characteristics:
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • People skills: especially good listening, empathy, and conveying enthusiasm and appreciation
  • Punctual, consistent, conscientious, responsive
  • Flexible enough schedule to be able to
    • respond within 24 hours to emails and messages from volunteers and
    • find meeting times, when needed, with volunteers in all continental US time zones.
  • Comfort using digital communications and organizational tools and learning new ones
