Volunteers that are wanting to prepare a meal would need to make a meal at home (at least 1 meat, 1 starch, and 1 vegetable) or cater/buy, having enough for everyone. A lot of people order pizza, fast food, or sub sandwiches. Others get a group together and each person brings one item needed for the meal. Those that do usually do spaghetti, lasagna, fried chicken, chicken tenders, tacos, nachos, pasta dishes, etc. That does not necessarily mean volunteers have to do any of these but they are just ideas of what people have done. Volunteers wouldn’t need to provide drinks or plates. However, paper plates, plastic forks, and spoons would be greatly appreciated.
Right now we average about 40 individuals which include children and their moms. We recommend for everyone to call or email the week of to see how many residents there are since it does change and to let us know what you will be bringing. If a volunteer would like to do lunch, it would need to be dropped off at 11:30 AM the day of. If a volunteer chooses to do dinner, it would need to be dropped off by 4:30 PM the day of. Or they can drop off on Friday if they were doing Saturday or Sunday. If a volunteer is making something that needs to be warmed up, they would need to drop it off an hour early, so we can have it ready by lunch or dinner. This can be a one-time occurrence or on a continuous basis.

Mission Statement
Strengthening children, youth, and families in crisis by providing a broad array of counseling and support services in a safe and nurturing environment.
Description
We are a nonprofit, 501C3 Corporation and a residential care facility that provides services for homeless children from 0-17 years of age along with their young mothers. We also provide care and services for homeless girls aging out of the foster care system at 18 years of age. We provide customized "Life Plans" that are designed around the physical, emotional, and educational needs of our kids while helping Mom create a plan of action to get back on her feet.
Our goal is not simply to be a place of refuge, we are the "NEXT STEP" towards independence. We take our guests from homeless, to hopeful, to a home of their own.
