Recruiting Organization: Youth Assisting Youth

Youth Assisting Youth is a United Way member agency, is a non-profit charitable organization that provides mentoring and tutoring services for newcomer and at risk youth 6 - 15 years old. We need volunteers (especially guys) 16 - 29 years old, who are willing to help these youth become more resilient.

Volunteers will provide guidance, support, homework help, coaching and leadership to youth on a one-to-one basis or in groups like after school programs and/or recreational activities. Volunteers can also attend FREE activities and professional sports events (i.e Blue Jays, Raptors, Argonauts, Maple Leafs) together with their youth. Comprehensive training and scholarships are also available.

Areas we serve: NORTH YORK, YORK REGION, SCARBOROUGH, DOWNTOWN TORONTO, ETOBICOKE (ONTARIO, CANADA ONLY)

Qualifications:

• Attend a mandatory Volunteer Information Training Session
• Must be 16 - 29 years old
• Provide two professional references (i.e professor, employer, etc)
• Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening and interview
• Able to commit to 3 hours a week on your own schedule for one year
