Enfield Loaves and Fishes is a top tier soup kitchen that offers a free, hot meal 7 days a week to the food insecure in our community. We ask no questions of our guests and have volunteers of all ages, walks of life, and experience levels. Our facility was formerly a restaurant, so we have a beautiful location with state of the art kitchen equipment.

We are solely donation and grant funded, and we are looking for kind people looking to give back to the community! We need dishwashers all week long, at any point of our work day M-F 11am-5:30 pm, Sat 10am-1pm, Sunday 3:30pm-5:30pm.

Description

Enfield Loaves & Fishes strives to make a difference in the life of people who live with food insecurity. We serve every meal with dignity and respect in a nurturing environment. Our volunteers, Board of Directors, and staff strive to make a positive difference in our community and in the world, and the strength of the organization rests on their shoulders.

Food and commodities are supplied through partnerships with Connecticut Foodshare, Midwest Foodbank, and local businesses, schools, churches, and civic organizations.

Dinners are served Sunday through Friday from 4-5 p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30-12:30 p.m., with various churches or groups providing meals and volunteers on Saturdays and Sundays.

Some of our volunteer duties include: setting up for dinner, preparing foods, fundraising, receiving donations, serving meals, caring for leftover foods, clean up, and help in picking up donations at various sites.
