Interested in the history of Hermosa Beach and the South Bay? Looking for a fun and educational space to spend your time, learn new things, and meet new friends? Join the Hermosa Beach Historical Society for a Docent Open House, Thursday, September 22nd at 6pm!

The Hermosa Beach Historical Society formed in 1987 and the Museum has been open in the HB Community Center building since 2007. It holds 3,500 objects, photographs, and other ephemera in its collection and shares the stories of Hermosa Beach and the roots of LA and the South Bay through exhibits, lectures, and public programs.

We are currently seeking volunteers, ages 18 and above, to join our team. Volunteers can assist the Museum in various ways including:

  • Giving tours to adults and children
  • Greeting visitors, selling merchandise, and answering questions during open hours (currently Wed-Sun, 2 - 4pm)
  • Special events

This will be an opportunity to meet current docents and Museum Staff, hear about volunteer opportunities and upcoming events just for docents! Refreshments will be offered. Questions, and to RSVP, email: hermosabeachmuseum@gmail.com

The Hermosa Beach Historical Society Museum is located at 710 Pier Ave. HB, 90254 in the Community Center complex. The entrance is on the tennis court side of the building. Free parking.
