VITAS Healthcare(r) is looking for avid booklovers to read to hospice patients in their homes, the hospital or long term care facilities.
Many hospice patients are unable to read on their own. Volunteer readers offer hospice patients the ability to stay in touch with the world around them, or the opportunity to escape into the world of a favorite novel for a short time. By taking a small amount of time out of your busy work or school week you can make the biggest difference in another’s life.
This is a great opportunity for you to give back to the community. Your commitment is completely up to you, whether you spend one day a week or one day a month. Your time is always appreciated.

Description
Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare, providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in the office, using their cars and from their own homes.
