Sanctuary Hostel is a project to create an animal shelter/ hostel/ community garden where we will work with other nonprofits in both Mexico and the US. Our model plans to be self-sustaining in that we will not rely solely on donations and thus not be at risk of returning animals to the streets. We have the land and are working with an architect to design custom buildings. As we are a relatively new non profit organization we want to bring people into our organization to help us make this a successful project that can act as a model for animal rescues worldwide.

We are seeking volunteers to develop our marketing strategy and lead marketing planning/implementation for the nonprofit. Our goal is to build our following by capturing attention of those whose values resonate with our mission. We also want to educate the public on the problems we are addressing, our unique solutions and offerings, and how they can help. This position is ongoing and offers flexible hours with specific responsibilities defined in collaboration with the Sanctuary Hostel core team. If you are passionate about the welfare of animals and sustainability, please get in touch! Responsibilities may include:

• Leading team meetings to ensure team member understanding of projects, tasks, priorities, and solving issues when help is needed.
• Leading brainstorming sessions to develop marketing strategy and planning with guidance from board members and advisors
• Jointly developing our marketing calendar with other volunteers such as Social Media volunteer
• Managing media creation projects, including review of storyline and production style
• Overseeing responses on social media platforms to ensure good communications
• Analyzing marketing performance and making recommendations to improve engagement
• Attending core team meetings

Capabilities include:

• Committed to creating and implementing Sanctuary Hostel
• Effective verbal and written communications skills to convey plans, status issues and ideas with the core team
• Experience with marketing / communications / public relations
• Experience leading teams, managing people, and/or managing projects

Candidates may be remote or hybrid for this position. Currently all recurring meetings and work is done remotely

• Shall sign a volunteer agreement upon joining the volunteer team.

• Have a fervent desire to support animals and eco-travelling. Honest, reliable and dedicated to the cause.
