Have you ever worked at a train depot? Do you want to immerse yourself in local railroad history? The Woodland Train Depot Museum needs help cleaning up and preparing for upcoming community events and tours. Join our crew this Saturday morning to clean and organize the Woodland Train Depot for future visits. With your help we can make this unique historic building inviting and welcoming for our visitors. How many people can say that they have worked at a 110-year-old train depot?

Mission Statement

Sacramento Valley Historical Railways is a fellowship of volunteers who are dedicated to community service and education through the preservation and operation of historic railroad equipment and structures in the Sacramento Valley.

Description

The Sacramento Valley Historical Railways offers a hands-on opportunity to experience and learn about the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley. Established as an organization in 1982 to restore Southern Pacific steam locomotive 1233, the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways has since saved and restored the Historic Woodland Southern Pacific Depot which houses a museum dedicated to the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley. Also on display at the depot are steam locomotive 1233, Southern Pacific caboose 1156, and Spreckels locomotive 50. Please join us in preserving our local railroad history!
