Help support the local food system by providing customer service for Farm Fresh RI's Market Mobile program.

Market Mobile is a transparent local food distribution system that connects farmers and producers in New England with customers and wholesale buyers like chefs, grocers, schools, hospitals, and farm stands. Combining e-commerce, personalized customer service, professional staff, and fleet of delivery vehicles, Market Mobile helps farmers focus on farming, increases the overall sale of locally grown products in our community, and provides shoppers with a trusted system for buying local food directly from the source.

Volunteers meet curbside pick- up customers and deliver their orders to their cars. This is a huge help to our staff and allows them to work uninterrupted. It can be slow some days, so we encourage volunteers to bring a book or homework to complete during the 4 hour shift from 12-4pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.

About Farm Fresh RI

Location:

10 Sims Ave, Unit 103, Providence, RI 02909, US

Mission Statement

MISSION We envision a Northeast abundant with diverse family farms and fertile soils, with locally and honestly produced foods and flavors at the heart of every table. Originally inspired over a decade ago by a Brown University student project, we were founded in 2004, incorporated in 2006, and received 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2007. Today our mission is much as it was from the start -- to grow a local food system that values the environment, health, and quality of life of the farmers and eaters in our region.

Description

Increasing Community Access to Local Foods

Our Community Access programs increase the availability and affordability of locally sourced foods and share knowledge of how these fresh ingredients fit into a healthy lifestyle. These programs include Farmers Markets, Farm to School and Community Education, Bonus Bucks, and Harvest Kitchen's culinary job training program.

Building Strong Local Food System Enterprises

Our Food System Enterprise services create transparent systems and market-based opportunities for farmers and producers, as well as increase farm viability and financial sustainability for our organization. These programs include Market Mobile and Harvest Kitchen’s food production and processing.
