Support a Hub's Backpack Giveaway!

Education is a key part of our work at Brilliant Detroit. Academic support is part of setting kids up for success, as is making sure they have the right tools and resources. With this in mind, Brilliant Detroit is hosting Back to School backpack giveaways at our sites! We would love your support in distributing school supply-stuffed backpacks and getting kids excited to go back to school. Some of our sites will be hosting larger open house-style events while others will be more focused on giving out school supplies exclusively. Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean up after the event and staff stations with giveaways and family fun activities.
Please see the list of locations and the respective dates and times of their Back to School events below. Note that each shift is assigned to a specific site. For example, if you sign up for the shift on August 12th, you will be asked to go to Chandler Park.

Brilliant Detroit is dedicated to building kid success families and neighborhoods where families with children 0-8 have what they need to be school ready, healthy and stable. We do this by providing proven programming and support year-round out of Brilliant Detroit homes in high-need neighborhoods.
