Girls on the Run loves to support those who manage the Citizen's Pell Bridge Race and all the competitors. We need community volunteers to join us the day of the race to help carry out the duties of our assigned station/task. If you support our organization and want to volunteer with us for a single-day event, please consider joining us on October 16th to cheer on and assist race participants. Description
Girls on the Run Rhode Island proudly serves Providence, Bristol, Kent, Newport, and Washington counties and Bristol County in Massachusetts.
Meeting twice a week after-school in small teams of 15 girls, we teach life skills through fun, engaging lessons that celebrate the joy of movement. The 16-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. Over the course of the program, girls will develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care and compassion, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society.
