If you are a woman with daytime availability and enjoy working with young children ages 0 to 5, we invite you to serve as an Early Childhood Aide! As an aide, you’ll have the opportunity to invest in the next generation from all around the world at a pivotal time in their lives.

Aides support staff teachers with different educational and fun activities, interacting with children, helping them practice their English, handing out snacks, and a range of other tasks. By serving in this role, you’ll also make it possible for children’s parents to attend their own classes and better adjust to life in America.

Classes last approximately 2.5 hours and take place weekday mornings throughout the school year. Volunteers commit to serving at least one day a week for a semester. Training is provided.

About World Relief DuPage/Aurora

191 S. Gary Avenue, Carol Stream, IL 60188, US

Mission Statement

At World Relief Chicagoland, we come alongside refugees and other immigrants in vulnerable situations as they rebuild their lives in the United States. For over 40 years, we’ve been welcoming immigrants and refugees across Chicagoland, starting with refugee resettlement in Chicago and DuPage County (1979), and later in Aurora (1999). For decades, we have empowered churches, community organizations and people like you to adapt to the challenges of the moment for the sake of refugees. As needs have increased in recent years, we have expanded our work beyond refugees to include all immigrants in vulnerable situations. Today, World Relief Chicagoland is part of a national network of offices through which over 400,000 immigrants and refugees have been welcomed into this country.

Our work consists of refugee resettlement, community-based ESL (English as a Second Language), mental health services, and immigrant legal services, employment counseling, and more. We work with volunteers from all walks of life from college students to retirees. If you want to help the refugees and immigrants in your community, we can help you connect with them.
