ORGANIZATION: TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network)

Overview of Position: Reaches out each month by phone to CarePartners living with HIV, inviting them to upcoming programs and events.

Benefits to the Volunteer: A great opportunity to reach out to people living with HIV by phone and connect them with support services.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Contacting CarePartners who have requested invitation calls, using the phone from the TIHAN office, to invite/remind them of upcoming programs or events.
  2. Using TIHAN’s online database to find CarePartner information and to log their responses.
  3. Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Qualifications/Experience:

Required: Must be 18 years or older. Attention to detail and ability to closely follow instructions. Comfortable interacting with people from diverse backgrounds. Must be comfortable on the phone, and have good phone etiquette. Must have good computer skills, and be able to learn new software.

Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French). Experience working with people living with HIV/AIDS.

TIHAN is a non-profit located in Tucson, Arizona that provides services to people living with HIV/AIDS to empower them to live well. Our mission is to use education and support to reduce stigma and sustain hope for people living with HIV. Our main values are education, service, and advocacy.

  • Orientation or Training
  • One, two, or three shifts of 2-4 hours each, taking place usually during the first two weeks of the month. Shifts are scheduled during TIHAN’s regular office hours of 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
