At ReDI, we offer free online IT courses to tech-savvy newcomers and the chance to collaborate with the tech and digital industry. We are a volunteer based organisation and our volunteer teachers support learners within a 3 months course. We would like to lift some weight out of our Fall teachers shoulders, by providing for an extra tutor to lead two/three recap sessions online throughout the semester over September, October and December 2022.
Your role:
We are looking for tutors to support our IT courses for those facing barriers and borders to their tech education. As a tutor, you lead 2 recap sessions with our students (15 per class). Recap sessions are a chance for students to repeat what they have learnt until that point in the semester and to consolidate their knowledge with quizzes and exercises. During those sessions, students have a chance to solve any doubts and ask questions about what they have learnt, or about programming in general and your own experience in the field.
You can support us by joining one of the following courses:
- html/css
- Intro to Computer Science (already assigned)
- Python Foundations (already assigned)
- Data Analytics with Python (already assigned)
- UX/UI basics (already assigned)
Classes are taking place online on Zoom, on weekdays evening (Mon + Wed or Tue + Thurs, 7-9 pm).
Your role as a tutor:
Before Class:
- gather information about the topics taught so far and prepare for the recap session
- create a summary view of the session
- create quizzes and exercises around the topics from the previous session
During Class:
- Start with summarising main areas from the previous sessions
- Provide for quizzes and exercises to the students
- Provide solutions and discuss the exercises to resolve any doubts around the exercises
- Discuss any doubts and queries around the the previous session
- Provide learners with tips and tricks to help them improve

Description
The ReDI School of Digital Integration is a non-profit technology school based in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Dusseldorf, Duisburg and Copenhagen. The school was founded in February 2016 with the aim to facilitate integration into society for refugees as well as their access to the labor market. Today, ReDI offers free courses in digital skills to IT-savvy "newcomers" and locals having no access to digital education or to a professional network. To accelerate the start of a new career, ReDI also offers different career services: workshops, career talks and networking events with tech companies. In addition, students and alumni have access to a 1:1 mentorship program.
These are the programs that are currently running in Berlin: Digital Career Program (advanced coding classes + career services), Digital Women Program (digital literacy, beginner coding classes, design track + career services), Kids & the Digital Youth Program (intro to computer skills & intro to coding).
